Blitz it Friday

This week I did things a little differently. On Tuesday I made a big trip to the grocery store (not my blitz). When I got home I set the timer for 30 minutes and starting getting all the meat I bought repackaged & into the fridge.

  • 15 lbs of hamburger into 7 packages
  • 20 lbs of pork chops into 8 packages

Then I got it and the 20 lbs of chicken breasts I bought arranged in the freezer. I got this done in the first 20 minutes, then spent the final 10 minutes rearranging the refrigerator to fit the rest of the groceries inside.

On Wednesday night, I had some insomnia. So, I set the timer again. In 30 minutes, I got:

  • 3 lbs of cooked beef shredded
  • 5 lbs of cooked pork shredded
  • the pork broth poured into containers to refrigerate
  • the dishwasher loaded
  • the floor swept
  • a load of laundry started

I think I actually got more done splitting it up. Go to Organized Everyday to see more Blitz it Friday

Sounds like a great blitz. Breaking it into two blitz's really worked for you!

That's right. You do get more done splitting it up. I really am impressed that you did all of that when you got home from the grocery store. When I get home from the store, I am often so worn out from shopping and all that I just want to shove it all in the fridge and take a nap. So, this would really take some self-control! So, you get a double: atta girl! from me. Insomnia: hard to deal with, but you made the best of it. Hope you take a nap today.

I have those insomnia cleaning experiences as well. Why lay there and think of all I need to do when I could be doing it? The only drawback is that my hubby is a light sleeper and so whatever I do has to be done quietly (filing, folding laundry, etc.).

Great job! If I ever have insomnia, cleaning would be the last thing on my mind--so good for you!

I find that I get so much accomplished during my bouts of insomnia. Great job!
