A Giveaway for Breast Cancer Awareness Month (3 Winners)--CLOSED

Happy Pink Saturday!!! Be sure to stop by How Sweet the Sound to check out all the links for Pink Saturday & say Hi to Beverly, our lovely host.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. According to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in woman, after lung cancer. I have several online friends who have battled breast cancer as well as friends who have lost relatives to this devastating disease. It is the mission of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation to find a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime!!!
CELEBRATE SURVIVORS AND SUPPORT GIRLFRIENDS EVERYWHERE WITH THE KN PINK RIBBON SIGNATURE COLLECTION™ for 2009.
KN Karen Neuburger® lifestyle brand and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF) are partnering during the month of October 2009. KN will host “Pink Parties” at over 300 Dillards store locations where guests will get the chance to shop for a cause. For each purchase of KN Karen Neuburger pajamas during the “Pink Parties,” KN will donate 30 minutes of research to BCRF. In addition, to help KN reach the goal of sponsoring a month of research, donations will also be accepted through their Time for Research page. A twenty five dollar donation funds one half hour of Breast Cancer Research.

Since one of my close relatives is a Breast Cancer survivor, I planned on at least doing an Almost Wordless Wednesday. I also just went for my annual gyno appt Sept 30th, a day early, but I figure the doc is probably better than me... or my husband! :o)

Oops I posted that before my mandatory entry: so far what I have done is walk in the Komen 5K this past Sunday, and I have posted a tutorial about how to do self breast exams on my blog http://katieandscotts.blogspot.com/2009/10/until-theres-cure.html I will likely do much more. It's a cause near and dear to me.

Lovely Pink Saturday post and sweet blog, too. Woke up to a dusting of snow on the ground so even thought this isn't Saturday I really needed a boost! Today you made me smile...and think!

What am I doing for Breast Cancer Awareness Month? I am remembering my mother who died in 1983 of this horrible disease and in her honor I am getting my annual mammogram.

Sorry, I didn't get to see everyone yesterday. I had important business. My 11 year-old grandson was playing football and he wanted Mimi to go to the out-of-town-last-of-the-season-game. THEY WON AGAINST AN UNDEFEATED TEAM! WOO-HOO! 35 - 17☺

Hope the coming week blesses you with sunshine, happiness and good friends.
